During our weekly mathematics department meeting one of the teachers asked: “Why do some students find mathematics problems so hard to solve?” This question set the ball rolling to invest our time researching a possible solution to this very important problem.
Thus, we agreed to tackle the issue of lack of problem solving skills in our year 7 students by including as many non-routine problems as possible.
